About Sofia

Sofia began her more than 32 years in the hospitality industry with two objectives, to serve others and specifically to assist others in achieving their highest potential.  She is an experienced facilitator and executive coach, specializing in strategic human resources development at all levels of an organization. Sofia has designed, deployed and conducted service culture and developmental training programs for employees, managers and executive team members.  

She brings energy and depth to her client interactions and facilitation sessions. She utilizes her talents in facilitating learning experiences that are engaging and results oriented.  Known for her focus on client satisfaction and making a difference with each participant her extensive business background allows her to connect with individuals at different levels in an organization, to capture their attention and keep them motivated in workshops or personal development seminars. 

Sofia’s extraordinary contribution to the Marriott International & Ritz-Carlton Brands included hands on experience in Retail, Food & Beverage, Reservations, Sales & Marketing, Rooms Operations, Human Resources and Training & Development. Her experience in operations allows her to fully optimize her training and development having a walked a mile in others’ shoes.  She has served as a Florida Sterling Council Examiner and was a member of Marriott’s National Training Cadre for Corporate Training Delivery. Sofia has received numerous accolades and recognition for her outstanding contributions including recognition as a Hall of Fame Awardee for breakthrough results in Talent and Culture Development, as well as the incredible recognition of being a JW Marriott Award of Excellence nominee.

She holds a Bachelors’ degree in Public and Corporate Management from the University of Massachusetts (Boston), is multi-lingual, being fluent in Spanish and English with an elementary grasp of French. 

Sofia is accredited in the use of Myers Briggs (MBTI) assessment, the DISC Behavioral Assessment and is certified in facilitating Covey’s 7 Habits.
